BioCoupler® Glass Set (8 oz) x1

PLANT TISSUE CULTURE EQUIPMENT

BioCoupler® Glass Set (8 oz) x1

Reusable glass-vessel system designed for temporary immersion plant tissue culture and micropropagation using liquid culture medium.

CAT#: 0644-BCS81 Size: Each

Product Overview

BioCoupler® Glass Set (8 oz) is a reusable glass-vessel system for temporary immersion plant tissue culture. This set includes two 8 fl oz (237 mL) autoclavable glass jars connected by a BioCoupler® system to facilitate the movement of liquid culture medium between vessels.

The system is designed to support mixing, wetting, agitation, coating, and transfer of plant propagules in a high-humidity culture environment. An integrated microporous vent filter supports filtered air exchange and pressure equalization.

BioCoupler® is designed for plant propagation workflows without conventional plumbing, electrical power, or timers. It uses liquid culture medium, eliminating the need for a gelling agent during temporary immersion.

BioCoupler Glass Set 8 oz with two autoclavable glass jars

Reusable Temporary Immersion Culture System

The BCS81 set includes two 8 fl oz (237 mL) glass jars and a BioCoupler® connection for liquid-medium plant tissue culture and micropropagation applications.

Key Features & Benefits

Temporary Immersion Culture

Designed for temporary immersion bioreactor workflows in plant tissue culture.

8 oz Glass Vessels

Includes two 8 fl oz (237 mL) glass jars for small-scale plant propagation experiments.

Integrated BioCoupler®

Connects the two glass vessels and facilitates liquid culture medium transfer.

Filtered Air Exchange

Integrated microporous vent filter supports pressure equalization and filtered gas exchange.

No Electricity Required

Designed to operate without electrical power, conventional pumps, or timers.

Autoclavable Design

Can be autoclaved at 121°C or sterilized using suitable chemical or gas methods.

Liquid Culture Medium

Temporary immersion uses liquid medium, so a gelling agent is not required.

Plant Propagation

Suitable for a range of plant tissue culture and micropropagation applications.

Applications

BioCoupler® has been tested for temporary immersion culture across a range of plant types. It is suitable for research and propagation workflows involving:

  • Temporary immersion bioreactor culture
  • Plant tissue and organ culture
  • In vitro micropropagation and plant multiplication
  • Plant shoot and propagule culture
  • Orchid propagation
  • Hemp tissue culture research
  • Aquatic plant and succulent propagation
  • Fern and carnivorous plant tissue culture

Culture Setup & Preparation

Prepare the BioCoupler® system according to the requirements of the plant species and selected tissue culture protocol.

Glass Jars

2 x 8 oz

Jar Capacity

237 mL Each

Liquid Medium

About 2/3

Sterilization

121°C

Fill the lower jar with liquid culture medium to approximately two-thirds of its capacity. Place the plant propagules in the upper jar according to the culture protocol.

Use an appropriate plant tissue culture medium, such as MS medium. A gelling agent is not required for temporary immersion. PPM may be used according to the laboratory protocol to help manage contamination.

Important: Autoclave the BioCoupler® system before use according to the manufacturer's instructions. Confirm that all components are properly assembled and sterilized before introducing plant material.
