You want to use click reactions in aqueous media e.g. for experiments with cell culture or sensitive biomolecules that do not accept DMSO-based environment. Then a water-soluble CuSO₄ reagent is the compound of choice. In order to get here the click reactive Cu(I) species, you will need to add Sodium Ascorbate (BCMI-005) as reducing agent. Additionally, please make sure also to use a water-soluble ligand for protection of your nucleic acid.
