Description
3,3'-Diaminobenzidine [DAB] | D-2561
3,3'-Diaminobenzidine (DAB) is an organic compound that is both chemically and thermodynamically stable. As its water-soluble tetrahydrochloride, DAB has been used in immunohistochemical staining of nucleic acids and proteins. Diaminobenzidine is oxidized by hydrogen peroxide in the presence of hemoglobin to give a dark-brown color. This is used to detect fingerprints in blood.
A nucleic acid stain as well as a peroxidase substrate, 3,3’-Diaminoabenzidine (DAB) is a reagent for selenium spectrophotometric determination that can also be utilized for staining proteins.
Used for spectrophotometric determination of selenium.
